PORTRAITS OF CYRIACO OF ANCONA
This relief carving in Ancona was identified as a portrait of Cyriaco
by Gabriele Baldelli in "Su due pretesi ritratti anconetani,"
Cyriaco d'Ancona e la cultura antiquaria dell'Umanesimo: Atti del convegno internazionale di studio, Ancona 6-9 febbraio 1992.

This portrait of Cyriaco by Benozzo Gozzoli, painted
between 1459 and 1462, is found in the panel of the Old King,
on the left-hand wall of The Journey of the Magi series
in the Medici Chapel, Florence.
The identification by Diana Gilliland Wright was announced at
the 2010 Archaeological Institute of America meeting
and on-line at Surprised by Time.
