BELOW: Folios 47v-48r from Mehmed's notebook, #232 from TURKS: A Journey of 1000 Years, edited byDavid J. Roxburgh
for the 2005 exhibiton of the Royal Academy of Arts. The catalog notes that this notebook contains 180 pages "with
no writing except for meaningless Persian words, lettering exercises in Ottoman and Greek, and drawings on 32
pages. The paper is of Italian manufacture and a number of pages show signs of having been cut from something
else and reused
